Is it hot enough for you? It’s definitely a Texas summer. This summer heat is taking a toll on our trees and shrubs, watering is vital. While most well established trees should be alright for a little longer; it is the newly planted trees and shrubs that will need a little weekly water.
It is best to use a soaker hose around your shrubs and water for 15 to 20 minutes once or twice a week. Trees along the same lines use a small sprinkler on low or turn the hose on a slow trickle at the base of the trunk of your small tree. Mulch helps retain moisture, make sure you have some around the base of your trees and shrubs. Here is some great information from that our friends with Nature’s Guide and Rebecca Miller have passed along. .
