The hot weather is upon us. Russell Feed & Supply is here to help you get through it by offering quick service so you can get back on your way. We will work as quickly as we can so you won’t have to wait too long to have your order taken and your feed order loaded.
Don’t forget your outdoor pets with this heat. They need plenty of shade and fresh water, and a soda bottle of frozen water sure helps to keep them cool. You should notice your pets slowing down on the amount of food they consume because of the hot weather. This is normal and their appetites should resume back to normal as the temperatures fall to a more comfortable level, which in Texas could be December.
Last month, we offered a hands on canning class where twelve attendees learned how to can vegetables and then took them home. Thanks to everyone that helped make this event happen. Also in June, Vaccination Station donated $1 to the Don’t Forget to Feed Me project for every rabies vaccination they gave. The Don’t Forget to Feed Me group helps people who can’t afford to feed their pets, thus saving those pets from the dog pound. We are an official donation drop off spot if you would like to help keeps those families from being separated from their four legged kids.
Many of you have been asking, “When will the 2 string alfalfa be arriving?” I wish I had an answer for you. Our growers were hit hard during that last freeze in May and have been unable to get any to us. We are still pulling the 100 pound bales from Arizona and there seems to be plenty of it. As soon as the 2 string alfalfa arrives, we will let you know on our Facebook page and on our Website.
See you around the Hay Barn,
