April is here and so are the weeds. The dandelions, henbit and other broad-leaf weeds are thriving. One option to slow down and kill the broad-leaf weeds is to use a product containing 2-4-D in the ingredient list. 2-4-D is a selective herbicide that only controls broad-leaf weeds. There are several 2-4-D products on the market and all brands should do a great job. The best time to use 2-4-D is on a sunny, warm day.
For the organic gardener use 20% vinegar. Vinegar is a non-selective product and will kill or damage any plant material it is applied on. With any weed killer products always read and follow all label directions.
