On October 1st, we completed our 22nd year in business. Once again, you have blessed us with another record year. I, my family, and my staff thank you so much for honoring us with your business. We try to never lose sight of this or take it for granted.

This past year we completed the construction of our new Camp Bowie West store. Our west side customers now have a facility we can all be proud of. Our expanded inventory offering, propane filling station, and expanded hours have been well received, and we thank you again!

Our plans for 2020 are even bigger and bolder. If all goes as planned, we hope to break ground on a new Benbrook facility in 2020. This will be our biggest retail center to date— but not so big you could get lost or have to park a block away! More news on this is coming in the 1st quarter of next year. Another goal is to add additional warehouse space at our Decatur location. We also hope to add at least one new retail location next year. I would ask that you please keep those e-mails coming. I do read them and try to look at each market you recommend.

The past few years, we have had a lot of out of state competition come in and try to redefine the feed business with their mammoth buildings, reduced-size packaging, and non-ag related inventory. Please know—we are proud to be in the feed business! This is our life and our livelihood. You are not going to find furniture, appliances, bacon grease, etc. in our stores; however, you will find the best quality feed and the best service in the industry. We have and will always stay focused on providing the best in animal nutrition.

As most of you who shop with us know, we will do almost anything to earn your business, and you can find almost anything you need. However, there are a few things you will NOT find at a Russell Feed & Supply store:

  • You will not have to park a block away.
  • You will not be greeted rudely by an employee.
  • You will not find 30 cash registers, only to have 2-3 open.
  • You will not get lost in our store.
  • You will not have to check yourself out.
  • You will not have to have a “special store card” to keep from getting overcharged.
  • You will not have to arrive at 5 am for sale prices.
  • You will not have to load your own purchase.
  • You will not go unnoticed or unappreciated.
  • You will never find us open Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving Day, or Christmas.

Teresa, Megan, and I want to personally thank you for your patronage, support, and friendship the past 22 years. I would also ask that when you think about making a purchase, you consider the local merchants. We pride ourselves on being locally owned and operated, and the dollars you spend with us stay right here. We live here, we work here, and this is our hometown.
