Botanical Interests Seeds. Fall Vegetables.

September is prime time to start planting Fall vegetables. Nothing tastes better than home grown! You are not too late to plant some of your favorite vegetables such as Green Bush Beans and Lima Bush Beans. However, you need to hurry up and plant these before September 15th.

Broccoli, Brussels Sprouts, Cabbage, Carrots, Cauliflower, Swiss chard, Collards, Kale, Kohlrabi, Lettuce, Mustard, Onion bulbs, Onion seeds, English Peas, Radish, Spinach and Turnips can wait until the end of September to be planted. Most of these vegetables will take some frost or freezing weather.

I am sure there is something on this list that you like to eat. It doesn’t require a big garden area to plant some of these vegetables. A corner of a flower bed also works just fine. Even a large pot would work for most of these vegetables. Just use a good potting soil or organic cotton burr compost in your pots or flowerbed. The package seeds carried by Russell Feed & Supply are from Botanical Interest. The Botanical Interest seed company offers heirloom, organic, untreated, and non-GMO vegetable, herb and flower seeds.

Plant your seeds now for a cornucopia basket full of vegetables in time for Thanksgiving.

We’d love to see your own cornucopia of Fall vegetables. Click here to upload your gardening photos. We will post your photos here and on Facebook to show off your Fall harvest!
